One report, process, or data flow

The diagnostic is scoped to a single piece of work: a financial reporting package or management report, a SOX, internal audit, or enterprise risk process in Workiva GRC, or a Wdata or connection path that feeds reporting. It can also cover one recurring task you want to use Workiva AI for, such as drafting commentary or testing a control, including the settings, source data, and review steps that task needs. If several need attention, we start with the one that matters most for your next deadline.

What happens

  1. Free intake call

We talk through what needs to change, who is involved, and your next deadline. If it is a fit, we quote the diagnostic in writing.

  2. Review

We trace one recent cycle from source to final output, covering sources, calculations, links or records, review steps, permissions, and roll forward. We work with read-only access you grant, or with redacted extracts where access is not possible.

  3. Findings

We walk you through what we found and what we recommend.

What you receive

Recommendations
What to improve, what to keep, and the reasons behind each recommendation.
A process map
How your data reaches the report, or how your controls move through testing and review.
Requirements and risks
The access, licensing, source data, and decisions needed to move ahead.
A fixed-scope proposal
The recommended implementation or repair, with a defined scope for you to consider.

You keep the findings and can use them with any provider. The recommendation may be to improve your existing setup or keep it as it is.

Fee and timing

Your quote includes a fixed fee and agreed timeline, based on the report or process in scope. You receive and agree to it in writing after the free intake call, before any diagnostic work starts.

The quote states how long the diagnostic takes and how much time your preparer and reviewer need to give it, and we schedule it around your close, filing, and testing windows.

After the diagnostic

If you choose to proceed, implementation or repair is a separate engagement with a defined scope. We test against a prior cycle with known results and review the output with your team in Workiva. Before handoff, your team practices the next routine cycle with written instructions and our support.

We improve what works and rebuild only where the diagnostic shows the current structure cannot be made reliable.

How we handle your data

Confidentiality

Everything you share is treated as confidential. We are happy to sign your NDA, or provide ours, before the diagnostic starts.

Least access

We ask only for the access the work needs, read-only wherever possible, through a named user you create in your own Workiva user management and remove when the work ends.

No passwords or shared logins

We never ask for passwords or shared logins, and confidential files are never sent by email; we agree a secure route with you.

Your data stays yours

It is used only for your engagement, never shared with other clients, and never used as marketing material.

AI-assisted tools

We use AI-assisted tools in our work. Before any of your data is shared, we agree in writing which tools may process it, under terms that exclude training on your data, and we follow your organization’s AI and data policies.

Return or delete

At the end of the engagement, or earlier on request, working copies are returned or deleted from our working systems, and we confirm this in writing. Copies in routine backups expire on their normal schedule. We keep only ordinary business records, such as the proposal and invoices.

Incidents

If we ever suspect your data has been exposed, we tell you promptly.

Common questions

Why start with a diagnostic?

It gives you a reliable scope and quote based on your actual sources, links, permissions, and review steps. You can decide whether to proceed with implementation or repair once you have the findings.

What if we only need a small fix?

The diagnostic is sized to the report or process you want to improve. A small problem may lead to a focused repair proposal.
